Kidorikko was a Japanese synth-pop/new wave (and at times avant-garde) band active from January 1985 to April 1991 (just over 6 years). It was comprised of eccentric vocalist Chiyumi Ten, synthesiser player Ryuichi Sato, and briefly, keytarist Kimitaka Matsumae. The band had a very unique sound, always energetic, yet just a bit off, whether it was because they frequently made use of odd time signatures and other gimmicks, or because of their lyrics; sometimes their songs were childish and cutesy, and sometimes their songs bordered on Jun Togawa-esque insanity.
A big part of Kidorikko's identity was their live shows. While not at all coming close to the absurdity of the likes of Misako & Klinamen, Kidorikko's members frequently dressed in brightly-coloured, over-the-top costumes, carried around unusual props, and did silly little skits, such as the time Chiyumi mimed brushing her teeth during the intro of this particular performance of Akazu no Ma.
